Claremont Fan Court welcomes a new chair of governors

School News
I am very pleased to advise you that Mr Andrew Sutherland has been appointed chair of governors of Claremont Fan Court school. He replaces Mr Gordon Hunt who has retired after ten years as governor, six of which he served as chair.

We thank Mr Hunt for his work as chair of governors and for his commitment to the school. He has brought wisdom and humanity to the role and, in recognition of his long relationship with Claremont Fan Court, governors have awarded him the title of ‘governor emeritus’. This new role will ensure he retains a link to the school and that we are able to retain his knowledge and experience as needed. Mr Hunt will be invited to events and will continue work with the headmaster and others on capital fundraising initiatives.

Mr Sutherland has a long association with the school having spent a decade working as housemaster, English teacher and deputy head. He is the founder and principal of an educational guardianship organisation and has been a governor since 2016.
A full list of governors and their roles is available on the school’s website here.

We look forward to Mr Sutherland’s term of office and to having him visit the school in his new role.

Mr W P Brierly
