The Historical Claremont Lecture Series comprises of three lectures in Claremont mansion. This booking area is for Lecture 2 - The Royal Race and the family who won it.
Discover Claremont’s deep and fascinating links to royalty, which Prime Minster was invited to form a government at Claremont and our links to the last King of the French. Visit rooms which have featured on BBC's Fake or Fortune and royal bedrooms. Why the gates/ lamps have crowns? This is all incorporated in a scintillating overview by historian storyteller, former pupil and teacher Pamela Rider. All monies raised through these lectures will go directly to the Heritage Fund which supports the school’s restoration and maintenance efforts. This event is open to members of the public as well.

Timings:
Light refreshments at 7.30pm. The talk formally starts at 8.00pm and finishes at 9.00pm with 30min afterwards for further discussion/ questions.
About Pamela Rider:
An alumna of note, Pamela Rider studied History at the University of Sussex. She later qualified as a solicitor and worked in the city and Paris. She then moved back to the area with her young family and took up a teaching post at Claremont.
Pamela has always had a keen interest in Claremont mansion and its royal residents. She has devoted significant time, effort and resources to informing and ensuring the legacy of the mansion is preserved, and regularly gives talks to local groups, guided tours and within Claremont Landscape Gardens. Pamela has even been on the BBC and Belgium Television talking about Claremont. Her depth of knowledge and enthusiasm to share Claremont's rich past is infectious and an opportunity not to be missed!
